Koozeh's pictures
Here is another artist I really like: Koozeh. She is an amateur, but you wouldn't notice because she plays well with colors, and "fuzziness". Sorry, I don't know much about photography. I only know I like her images, each has a topic, a feeling...
So, she took a picture for me! The golden flowers, yes - they are for me!! :0)

I'm too sexy
Just thought that this paiting deserved this song...
I like both. How about you?
Hear the song and see the painting, do you think they match?
------------------------------------------------------------
I'm too sexy for my love too sexy for my love
Love's going to leave me
I'm too sexy for my shirt too sexy for my shirt
So sexy it hurts
And I'm too sexy for Milan too sexy for Milan
New York and Japan
And I'm too sexy for your party
Too sexy for your party
No way I'm disco dancing

And I do my little turn on the catwalk
Yeah on the catwalk on the catwalk yeah
I do my little turn on the catwalk
I'm too sexy for my car too sexy for my car
Too sexy by far
And I'm too sexy for my hat
Too sexy for my hat what do you think about that
I'm a model you know what I mean
And I do my little turn on the catwalk
Yeah on the catwalk on the catwalk yeah
I shake my little touche on the catwalk
I'm too sexy for my too sexy for my too sexy for my
'Cos I'm a model you know what I mean
And I do my little turn on the catwalk
Yeah on the catwalk on the catwalk yeah
I shake my little touche on the catwalk
I'm too sexy for my cat too sexy for my cat
Poor pussy poor pussy cat
I'm too sexy for my love too sexy for my love
Love's going to leave me
And I'm too sexy for this song

Girl with Mandolin
I am a Picasso fan. For me, like many, he is a genius. I say is - because his works will never die. He is part of an elit of artists who changed the world. Actually he was, more or less, the reason why I did not become an artist. I thought I could never be as good as him.
Anyway, I decided to include in my weblog one of my favorite paintings, created by him. Since this weblog reflects me, this paiting had to be here since once I saw it I never forgot it and it became part of me too. It is called The Girl with the Mandolin. What I love about it, is called, Still Life. For me, the genius come from portraying living beings as if life stood still. So, if you think about it, it portrays that life is dynamic, changing and moving constantly - and he was able to take a snapshot of this life, an instant. At least that's how I look at these, seemingly deformed, portaits. Many mind find them awful, I find them beautiful.

Women equality
I have a friend having a nice discussion about Iranian men and her method of dating them. Basically many Iranian men do not think women are equal to men. There was this guy that commented, you know what? I know many non-Iranian guys who do not think men and women are equal. He's right. I guess I didn't need to think about it for ages now, 'cause all the men in my life do think we're equal. For that I'm grateful.
When I was younger I was very interested in how women rights developed. I was and am very proud of the women who fought for our right to vote. I'm glad for our right to work and choose a career, to choose the guy to marry, to be able to be by ourselves, go out, stay in, etc. We have the right to be ourselves and follow our dreams. These are rights we should still fight for. We should spread the word. A man is not less when he cooks dinner, he is more. A woman is not less when she fixes a car, she is just not ordinary.
So, for all those men who do not know that we are equal, that there are no women and men roles in life, that instead of a "woman of the house" they should be looking for a friend who will become his soul-mate; I pity thee.

love letter song
Now a song from the Dominican Republic. This is one of my favorite merengue songs, written by a contemporary artist named Juan Luis Guerra, graduate from the Berkley college of music in Boston. It is called "Carta de Amor" or Love Letter and goes something like this:
Dear Woman (column)
Don't make suffer (comma)
Today I decide to write you letters of sincere love
so you see
your sweet love is a hole that penetrates my (tender love);
and without your kisses on my jacket
nothing covers my skin (period and continue).
Like you see, only in you I think,
I don't care about the Perestroika
nor basketball or Larry Bird
and a suffering in fixed installments
I carry in my chest.
Love me again, get filled of me,
I have life, only next to you,
mamacita eh?

Fighting ILLINI lost battle
I don't know how many of you follow College Basketball or Professional Basketball. I usually don't either. However, this year was a little different 'cause one of my Alma Maters, University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign, got to the finals for the first time in history!! They were the #1 seat for the whole year and lost only 2 games during the whole season. Unfortunately, the second game they lost was the championship. Lost to the University of North Carolina by 5 ponts!!!! :0( *very sad*
Anyway, they are a great team and did a great job!! Go Illini!!!
PS. The first picture is the Alma Mater sculpture that "welcomes" everyone @ the university.
PPS. The second picture is how I feel right now; one of my t-shirts is red, the second is orange!!

No keys!!!
I did not misspell this title. I honestly forgot my house and office keys today, so I called all of my officemates - but guess what; nobody answered. So I decided to go get breakfast consisting of a Pepsi and a bag of Doritos. Then I started roaming the halls of my building, trying to decide where to go. Finally I decided to encumbrance a friend of mine, who to my delight, has the coolest office ever. Let me describe it: 3 desks and 2 computers!! I kid you not! They even have fast internet access. Yey! So I was saved for the hour before my class. Nice eh?
Actually I like this place so much I considered moving, but I can't do that. Where would I then go if I locked myself out again?

Favorite old song from home
This song is titled Piel Canela or cinnamon Skin. It was composed by a very famous Puerto Rican artist named Bobby CapĆ³ (January 1, 1922 - December 18, 1989). He changed and enriched the music of the time in PR. In order for you to grasp some of the meaning of his lyrics, I translated it. I apologize for the rough translation, I did the best I could.:0)
"May the infinite (sky) be left without stars
and may the wide sea loose its immensity,
but may the blackness of your eyes not perish
and the cinnamon of your skin remain the same.
If the rainbow lost its beauty
and the flowers their scent and their color,
my sadness would not be as immense
like that of being left without your love.
I care about you, you, you
nothing other than you, you, you
I care about you, you, you
nothing other than you...
Black eyes, cinnamon skin
that can make me desperate.
I care about you..."
