Hybrid cars - I want one!!
I was happy to see that the new trend in vehicle models are hybrid cars. Car manufacturers are finally designing the cars (SUV) I want! This is not surprising based on the rise in fuel cost. However, it is nice because these cars are nicer to the environment. Hybrid cars consume less gas and produce less vehicle emissions. I don't know if you are familiar but they combine a gasoline engine with a battery-powered electric motor. That's how they work. For example, the Honda Civic Hybrid gets 10 to 15 miles more per gallon than a regular gas engine in the same car while the hybrid engine of the Toyota Prius produces 90% fewer emissions than a comparable gasoline engine. Plus they are not that expensive, they only increase the price by $3500 - $6000, which is nothing when you calcualte how much you'll save on gas money and tax returns.
It is sad that it is now when these vehicles are gaining popularity, since they have been in the US market since 1999. Of course, I don't know if you remembered those models, who would want them if they were u-gly? They looked like the cars that ET did not want to take home. The good thing is that the new models are the same vehicles just fuel efficient. Actually they are the new models on old favorites. They are looking good. How about my future SUV, my dream car? Well Lexus, Saturn, Honda and Chevrolet are making them. Lexus model already came out. I liked it.
I guess the next step is to create a car that does not run on fuel. It would be nice if it could run on water, better salty - ocean water. Hope its use doesn't make us run out of it though. Better yet, how about running on carbon monoxide, so that every time the passenger exhales, it runs. Or everyone's favorite, let it run on solar power. Why haven't they done that one by now I don't know. We only needed to design a powerful enough battery. We still have a long way to go, definitely.
At least we - consciousness is increasing and spreading - so that now there is hope.
