Optical illusion

Hey this is a great optical illusion that it'll make you see and un-see spots! No kidding! It's one of the best ones I have ever seen, without counting those I saw at a David Copperfield show. (I think he is awesome!)

Hope you like it.

Movies, movies, movies

The movies I like the most I guess, and I am a huge movie fan, are those that are uplifting and inspiring. Those movies that show people as human beings that care for the well-being of everyone. When an everyday person becomes a hero, when a nobody defies convention, oppression, or even peer pressure - that's a movie to see. They inspire me. When I feel I'm at my witt's end and all is lost, some of these movies give me the spirit of saying "the hell with it, I'm going to do it!".

Some of my favorites:
(1) "Lean on me": about a high school in NYC that has been un-offcially been classified as the point of no return. The kids don't have a future or a hope and a stubbord strong Principal changes all that.

(2) Catastrophic movies where citizens are forced to become heroes:
(a) the world ends: "The day after tomorrow" (global warming), "Armageddon" and "Deep Impact" (meteorite hits the earth)
(b) the good of the many outweigh the good of the few or the one: "K-19" (nuclear submarine gone wrong), "Schindler's List" (Nazis in WWII), "The Alamo" (200 Americans vs tens of thousands Mexicans), "Sommersby" (one man saves town after Civil War), "Hotel Ruwanda" (one man saves hundreds in Civil War in Africa),"Saving private Ryan*" (4 soldiers save the last of 4 brothers lost in WWII)

(3) "Iron-jawed angels": story about how US women got the right to vote

*A line from this movie that will stick forever: "Earn this" spoken from one of the saviors saying live a good life for you are living the lives of us 4 in yours.

Do you have any favorites?

Favorite movie scenes: What dreams may come

In this movie Robin Williams dies and goes to his own heaven. They say heaven is so huge, you create your own world to be happy in. There he finds his old dog, a nice young dalmatian. I think that that would be nice. So, I'll see you then, Dunkey.
PS. I don't want to talk about it.

Favorite movie scenes: Day after tomorrow

One of my favorite scenes is in the movie The Day After Tomorrow. A group of people sought shelter in the library. They were burning books to keep warm. There was a middle-aged male librarian sitting down holding a Bible very tightly. A young woman asks him if he thinks that the Bible will save his life. He responds that he's an atheist, but that was not the reason why he was holding to the Bible so tightly. He is protecting it fom the guys throwing books into the fire; because the Bible was the first book ever written. It simbolizes the dawning of reason and if modern civilization was over - then he was going to save at least a part of it.

He never let it go.

library

You know I used to hate going to the library. Actually it was more staying at the library, studying and such. I liked going to find information, I like searching for stuff I don't know or I know a little about. Maybe that's why I like this blogging thing. However, I'm starting to enjoy spending my days in the library now. Weird, what's wrong with me? Am I actually becoming a geek? I've always been nerdish, but not whole-heartedly. *Concerned/not much* *Happy here, cool!*
