Samana, Dominican Republic

Samana is considered by many Dominicans and visitors to be the prettiest part of the Dominican Republic. Unbelievably, I haven't seen it yet, but I plan too.

This region has been described as an area of "unspoiled white-sandy beaches, coconut-covered mountains, clear mountain streams winding through lush, tropical rain forests, vibrant coral reefs, internationally known whale-watching and many other attractions".

The webpage (http://www.samana.net/sn-english.htm) indicated that: "In a recent article about winter vacation destinations titled "More Sun for Less Money" that included the Samaná peninsula as one of the 25 best locations in the world, the December 2001 issue of Condé Nast Traveler magazine said that Samana Net was information packed."

Should we make a visit? I say a definite YES. We should find out if such a paradise actually exists and if it does - let's stay there! By previous experience, previous visits to the island, I can testify the beaches are beautiful! So, I'll see you by the first palm tree on the right!
